Patron Appreciation Week - We Love our Library Users!

Patron Appreciation WeekBecause we appreciate our loyal patrons, we are setting aside a special time during the week of February 11-16, 2019 to thank you. One lucky library user will win a Library Lovers Prize at each CCLD location. Visit your favorite library, or all of them, for a chance to win!

Monday, February 11- West Elmira Branch - We will have goodies available all day for our patrons, and Pizza and a Show starting at 6pm featuring The Nightingale by Roger Roberts Puppet Company. Visit us during the week for a chance to win an Amazon Dot with a Philips Smart Light kit.

Tuesday, February 12 - Big Flats Branch - All week long children will be able to receive a token for the prize machine. On Tuesday, 12th, we are treating our patrons to pizza lunch served from 12-2 or until gone. Adult patrons will fill out entry forms all week, and Friday, at 1:00, we will draw the winner for a Google Mini.

Tuesday, February 12 - Steele Memorial Library - Double Take will be performing from 2-4pm for your listening pleasure. Light refreshments will be provided. Visit us during the week for your chance to win one of two $25 gift cards.

Wednesday, February 13 - Horseheads Library - John Manfredi will be performing from 2:00PM - 5:00PM in our lounge. Light refreshments will be served. Visit us during the week for your chance to win our "Celebrate the Movies" gift basket.

Wednesday, February 13 - Van Etten Branch - Warm refreshments and goodies from 2:00-6:00pm. Visit us during the week for your chance to win a $50 gift card to a local retailer of your choice.

Twin Tiers Mini Maker Faire - April 27, 10am-3pm

Twin Tiers Mini Maker Faire

Our annual Maker Faire will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 10am-3pm at SUNY Corning Community College in Corning, NY. The event is free and open to all ages. Join us for free hands-on activities, demonstrations, and performances.

If you're interested in demonstrating your own creative talents at our event, our call for makers is open. We are calling all makers, innovators, crafters, and tinkerers to join us in inspiring the community through making and Do-It-Yourself projects. Apply by filling out the Call for Makers form on the website. https://twintiers.makerfaire.com/

New Dual Extruding 3D Printers
Print with more than one type of filament! The CCLD Makerspace can now print using two types of filament on the same print.

How to Train Your Dragon

Join us as we celebrate the upcoming release of "How to Train Your Dragon 3"!  All month long we have programs based on the "How to Train Your Dragon" series, join us for any of our programs for a chance to enter a drawing for 4 movie tickets.  On February 28th we will draw a winner for four tickets to Regal Cinemas at the Arnot mall so you can see the newest movie: "How to Train Your Dragon 3".

Valentine DogOn February 12 at 6pm, it's another Noah's Ark Animal Workshop! This class we will be making the Valentine Dog and of course all his special treats that come with him. This class is pre-registration due to size. Call 562-3300 to register or email peelg@stls.org.

On February 19, the Big Flats Library will host a Wine and Design Party starting at 6pm. The cost for this program is $20 (painting to be determined). You must register for this adult program since space is limited. Call 562-3300 or email peelg@stls.org to register. Spaces will fill fast.

Behind Closed DoorsOur book club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at the Bulkhead stop in Southport at 1:30pm.

Sprout Learning BackpacksWest Elmira Library now has Sprout Learning Backpacks for checkout.  These backpacks are brimming with high-quality early learning materials, books, and activities with easy-to-follow activity guides that make learning fun! Each backpack is themed and typically includes several picture books, two to four educational games or toys, and an activity guide showing how to use the items to help promote school readiness.
