Holiday Closings

November 10 - Steele Memorial Library will be open from 9am-5pm; all other CCLD libraries will be closed.

November 23 - All CCLD libraries will be closed.

November 24 - Steele Memorial Library will be open from 9am-5pm; all other CCLD libraries will be closed.

Technology Training at CCLD Libraries

Tech Training Lab

All classes are free and registration is required. To register for Steele classes call 733-9175; for Horseheads classes call 739-4581; for Van Etten classes call 589-4755 x3. All Steele classes take place in the Technology Training Lab.

Makerspace Certification Classes

3D Printer

To schedule a training session for one of our certification classes (see below), please call 607-733-8609 during the Tinker Lab's open hours, or E-mail us at: labcentral@stls.org.

Digital Media Lab Certification at Steele

Become certified to use the Digital Media Lab. You must have a parent present if you are under 16. Once you have completed the certification class, you can use the Digital Media Lab at Steele independently.

3D Printer Certification at Steele

Become certified in the use of the 3D printers at the Steele Memorial Library MakerSpace. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the 3D printers independently. Anyone under the age of 16 will be supervised in the use of the 3D printer.

Tinker Lab @ Steele

Stop by the Tinker Lab to take a class or use the lab equipment independently anytime the lab is open.

Steele Memorial

Adult Events @ Steele

We have two art classes for adults coming up this month! The first class is Friday, November 3rd at 2pm with artist Filomena Jack. Students will use acrylics to paint Fall Flowers. Registration is required: 733-9175. Paid for by the Friends of CCLD.

MonotypeThe second art class this month will take place on Tuesday, November 28th at 6:30pm with artist Wynn Yarrow. Create one-of-a-kind original prints. Registration is required: 733-9175. This project is made possible, in part, with public funds from NYSCA's Decentralization Program, administered regionally by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Teen Events @ Steele (12-18 yrs)

Piggy BankTeens, are you saving money for a car, food, or FUN?   Learn how to write checks, balance a checkbook, and how to save money for college. Join us at Steele Library on November 14th at 6:30pm with Corning Federal Credit Union to get some money management tips!  Earn prizes! Check with your teachers at EDA or EHS to see if you can earn extra credit for participating in this program!

This month at Steele we invite kids of all ages to Discover the Pilgrims!  We will have pilgrim and Thanksgiving crafts on Monday nights. There will be no story time on Friday, November 24th.

Electric GodIf you're watching the Downtown Holiday Parade in Elmira on November 24th at 10:00am, be sure to wave as the Bookmobile makes its way through the parade route.

Book Club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at the Bulkhead stop in Southport at 1:30pm. For October we read "Electric God" by Catherine Ryan Hyde to discuss on Nov 3rd.  We will read "Leaving Blythe River" by Catherine Ryan Hyde to discuss in December.
