Summer Reading Club (all ages)
Summer Reading Club for all ages runs until August 6th. You can register online or in person at your library. Prize drawings will vary from library to library so contact your branch for details. Be sure to log your reading minutes (in person or at the library)!

Technology Training at CCLD Libraries
All classes are free and registration is required. To register for Steele classes call 733-9175; for Horseheads classes call 739-4581; for Van Etten classes call 589-4755 x3. All Steele classes take place in the Technology Training Lab.

Horseheads - Tuesdays, 7:00-7:45pm - Informal Q&A sessions, limited to 2 students per session.
Makerspace Certification Classes
To schedule a training session for one of our certification classes (see below), please call 607-733-6809 during the Tinker Lab's open hours, or E-mail us at: labcentral@stls.org.
Digital Media Lab Certification at Steele
Become certified to use the Digital Media Lab - Learn how to record a video, edit the video and use a green screen to add background effects. You must have a parent present if you are under 16. Once you have completed the certification class, you can use the Digital Media Lab at Steele independently.
3D Printer Certification at Steele
Become certified in the use of the 3D printers at the Steele Memorial Library Makerspace. Learn how to change filament in the printers, navigate the display menus, and utilize the slicer software for optimizing your 3D prints. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the 3D printers independently. Anyone under the age of 16 will be supervised in the use of the 3D printer.
Tinker Lab @ Steele
Stop by the Tinker Lab to take a class or use the lab equipment independently anytime the lab is open.
Summer Maker Camp
Registration for our 3rd annual Summer Maker Camp has begun. To register call or visit the Steele Memorial Library reference desk. A registration fee of $20.00 secures your spot in camp for the week. (607)733-9175

Adult Events @ Steele
Adults who register for Summer Reading at Steele and log reading minutes each week will be entered into a weekly prize drawing and will be eligible for the grand prize drawing (MP3 Player and Bluetooth Speaker). Attend weekly programs with your "punch card" and redeem "punches" for prizes at the Steele Reference Desk.
 Coming up we have three art workshops, made possible by grants through the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes! Join us for two painting classes with Filomena Jack on 7/27 and 8/3 at 2pm. On 8/2 at 6:30pm we have a still life class with Wynn Yarrow! See the links below for more program details. Register by calling 733-9175.

 Performer Tim Collins is back for teens by popular demand! Tim will do a new, one man show "To Be Honest" about cyberbullying, bystander intervention, and social media's effect on friendships and relationships.
Summer Reading & Learning Fun runs now until the second week in August. Teens can earn prizes by reading anything they want, checking out reading material, or attending library teen events! Prizes include gift cards, smoothies, books, and more! Sign up on our website ccld.lib.ny.us or at the library.

 Now that the school year has ended, we would like to wish all of our little patrons best wishes and we hope you will remember to visit your local library branch and continue to read this summer.
Our book club for adults meets the 2nd Friday of the month at the Bulkhead stop in Southport at 1:30pm. For the month of June we read "The Woman in Cabin 10" by Ruth Ware to discuss on July 13th. This month we will read "One Thousand White Women" by Jim Fergus to discuss on August 10th.
