Closings & Holiday Hours

November 8 - All CCLD libraries closed for staff training

November 11 - Steele Memorial Library will be open from 10am-6pm; all other branches will be closed.

November 28-29 - All CCLD libraries closed for Thanksgiving

Technology Training at CCLD Libraries

Tech Training Lab

All classes are free and registration is required. To register for Steele classes call 733-9175; for Horseheads classes call 739-4581; for Van Etten classes call 589-4755 x3. All Steele classes take place in the Technology Training Lab.

Sewing Classes

Stop by the Tinker Lab to take a class or use the lab equipment independently anytime the lab is open.

Monday - Thursday: 12:00PM - 3:00PM, 4:00PM - 7:30PM
Friday & Saturday: 12:00PM - 4:00PM

Tinker Lab Closings
The Tinker Lab will be closed November 8, 11, 28, and 29.

Laser Certifications
Certification for use of CCLD Makerspace's laser cutter and engraver is now available.

Appointments for certification can be made using the online reservation calendar at:

ccldmakerspace.youcanbook.me

Please place "Certification" in the Project Summary field on the reservation form.

Lego Robotics

Please register at the Steele Memorial Library Reference Desk or call 607-733-9175. For ages 8 and up.

Upcoming Sewing Workshops

CCLD Makerspace will be hosting a series of sewing classes taught over the course of two multi-week sessions by guest instructor Jeannette Burnett.

3-week session:

6:00pm - 8:00pm
A registration fee of $15.00 will cover the cost of materials and all 3 classes. To register, please visit the Steele Memorial Library reference desk. Financial assistance is available upon request.

November 1st is the Day of the Dead! Join us for a special story time with face painting at 10:30am and crafts; face painting and showing of Disney's Coco at 3pm.

Also, all month long we are celebrating the release of Disney's Frozen II with a special drag story time, a photo op and a month long scavenger hunt.

Big Flats

The Alice NetworkIt's time for Book Club on November 1st! This month's book is The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.

Diamond Painting is the latest craze to sweep across the nation and Big Flats would like to start a Diamond Painting Club. Everyone is responsible for their own Diamond Painting and materials. The library will provide the tables, chairs and refreshments. We hope that you will come and join us. Please call and let us know if you are coming so that we have enough refreshments and chairs set up (562-3300). The club will meet on November 15th and 22nd at 12:30pm.

Our book club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at the Bulkhead stop in Southport at 1:30pm. For the month of October we read "Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs to discuss on November 15th. This month we will read "The Friends We Keep" by Jane Green to discuss in December.

Gourd BirdhouseIn November at Horseheads, come and paint/create your own unique gourd birdhouse with Karen Curran owner & instructor of Karen May's Creations! AnnaYouth Events @ Horseheads

Frozen II is almost here and we want to celebrate! Join us for a Frozen Party! Princess Anna will be here for a meet and greet. Queen Elsa will join her if she can finish her royal duties in time. There will be sandwiches and frozen treats. Then we will watch the sing-along version of Frozen. (Movie seating is limited, patrons will be given tickets upon arrival.)
