Patron Appreciation Week - We Love our Library Users!


Patron Appreciation WeekBecause we appreciate our loyal patrons, we are setting aside a special time during the week of February 10-15, 2020 to thank you.  One lucky library user will win a Library Lovers Prize at each CCLD location.  Visit your favorite library, or all of them, for a chance to win!


Friday, February 14-Big Flats Branch-Stop in from 1pm-5pm to enter the gift card drawing enjoy a cookie or two!

Friday, February 14-Bookmobile-Visit us on our stops from February 3rd- 15th to enter our basket giveaway and stop by on the 14th for light refreshments all day.

Wednesday, February 12-Horseheads Library-John Manfredi will be performing from 2pm-5pm in our lounge. Light refreshments will be served. Visti us all week for a chance to win a $50.00 Barnes and Noble gift card!

Friday, February 14-Steele Memorial Library-Visit us during the week for your chance to win one of two $25 gift cards.

Friday, February 14-Van Etten Branch-Warm refreshments and goodies from 1pm-4pm. Visit us during the week for your chance to win a $50 gift card to a local retailer of your choice.

Friday, February 14-West Elmira Branch-We will have a pizza lunch and goodies available all day for our patrons. Visit us during the week for a chance to win our Library Lovers basket.

Closings & Holiday Hours

Monday February 17 The Steele Memorial Library will be open 10am- 6pm other branches and the Tinker Lab will be closed for President's Day Holiday.

Laser Certifications
Certification for use of CCLD Makerspace's laser cutter and engraver is now available.

Appointments for certification can be made using the online reservation calendar at:

Please place "Certification" in the Project Summary field on the reservation form.

Steele Memorial

Adult Events @ Steele

The Lourdes Mobile Mammography Van will be parked in Steele Memorial Library's back parking lot on Friday, February 7th, 9:30am-5:30pm. Call 607-798-5723 to schedule an appointment. You do not have to be a Lourdes patient. Your results can be sent to the health care provider of your choice. They welcome insured and uninsured women. No referral needed. To find out if you are eligible for low- or no-cost screenings, call the Cancer Services Program at 607-778-3900. This project is supported with funds from Health Research, Inc. and the New York State Department of Health.Crochet

Big Flats

Ireland

The Big Flats Library will be hosting new program called Tuesday Travels, occurring one Tuesday afternoon each month.  The program will offer feature films about popular travel locations throughout the world and will include an informal discussion after the film. The first installment will feature Ireland as a travel location with a film about Ireland’s wild coast and magnificent animals that can be seen there. This month's Tuesday Travels is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18 at 1:30pm. Join us at the Big Flats Library for this new and adventurous travel program!

Bookmobile Book Discussion Club  
Our book club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at the Bulkhead stop in Southport at 1:30pm. On February 14th we will discuss:Tell no one by Harlan Coben. In February we will be reading. ”The Boys In the boat” by Daniel Brown and will discuss on March 13th

TanglewoodJoin us on your day off from school for a Tanglewood presentation How to Get There and What to Wear.  We will learn how animals get from place to place and why some animals are covered in fur and others have scales.  Some animals will be on hand for children to look at and even touch.
