CCLD Makerspace
Makerspace classes are now available by request. Visit ccldmakerspace.org/classes for a list of available classes and a link to the registration page. All classes will be held at Steele Memorial Library.
CCLD Makerspace is open by appointment. Use our booking form ccldmakerspace.youcanbook.me to reserve a time. Requests for 3D printing may be made online at ccldmakerspace.org/3d-printing-request.

Horseheads Free Library
Summer Reading Club wraps up on August 6. Make sure to log all of your minutes before then to be entered into the grand prize drawing…a trip to Animal Adventure Park (500 minute minimum to qualify). There will also be other prize drawings. Also don’t forget to use your points to purchase prizes in the prize store! Happy Reading!

Activities for Adults
August 6 is the last day to enter minutes for adult summer reading club and be eligible for prize drawings.
The Big Flats Library Adult "Take & Make" Kit for August is a Three Herb Starter Kit. Each starter kit will include: 3 planting pots, drainage rocks, bag of soil, basil seeds, chive seeds & oregano seeds. Please call Big Flats to reserve your kit. 562-3300.
Sign up for Zoom art classes with Wynn Yarrow this month hosted by West Elmira and Steele Memorial Library!
For the month of August at Horseheads Library, adults can create poetry with our Poetry Magnets. Create your own poem or add to what is already there. For the week of August 16-20, come in to pick up a Painted Garden Stone craft kit take-a-way. Add a little color to your garden. Limit of 25, first come first serve. The winner of the summer reading club prize drawing will be announced August 9th.

Library Services at Home
CCLD cardholders now have access to hoopla! Borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics, and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone - and even your TV! With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. CCLD cardholders can borrow 4 titles each month. Go to hoopladigital.com to create an account and start borrowing.
Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots are available to check out from Steele Memorial Library for those in need of internet access at home. Call 733-9175 to reserve a hotspot. *You need to live in an area with cell phone reception in order for the hotspot to work at your house.*
Due to COVID constraints, the Genealogy department at Steele Memorial Library has temporarily waived its remote research fees. Email edesk@stls.org with your contact information and genealogy question. You can access Ancestry Library Edition from home, through December! Discover your family history and start your family tree. Access billions of genealogy records including Census, SSDI & Military records.
Enjoy ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming video, online classes, language learning, and more, from the convenience of your home! Check out the library's Featured Services page for a list of digital services that can be accessed remotely with your Chemung County Library District card.
