National Library Week, April 7-13
Check out anytime this week at your local CCLD branch for your chance to be the lucky winner of a $100 VISA gift card. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April. National Library Week is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions and promote library use and support. This National Library Week, the public can show their appreciation and support for libraries by visiting their library in person or online, following them on social media and using the hashtag #NationalLibraryWeek.
Friends Books Sandwiched In
The final Books Sandwiched In of the series will take place on Friday, April 5, 12pm at Steele Memorial Library: "All the Little Hopes" by Leah Weiss, reviewed by Maureen Nicolo.
Technology Training at CCLD Libraries

Volunteer Tech Help is now available on Fridays at 1:15pm. Call to make an appointment with volunteer Steven, for help with your device! Steven is also able to help with assistive tech for the visually impaired (can recommend apps and services). Call 607-733-9173 (option 4) to reserve a spot.

Until further notice, the Tinker Lab will be closed on Saturdays. Regular operating hours throughout the rest of the week will remain unchanged.

Steele Memorial Library
Stop by at the second floor reference desk and borrow some seeds (up to 3 packs of non GMO seeds; plants will produce nice seeds for saving)! When you harvest your vegetables, herbs or flowers, save some seeds to bring back to the library for the next season! We are featuring easy-to-grow items that will yield impressive produce and seeds! Activities for Adults
Before the upcoming eclipse viewing party on April 8th, stop by on April 2nd at 3:30pm to hear Native American Eclipse Stories from Perry Ground, Turtle Clan Member of the Onondaga Nation of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. He will share beliefs, traditions, and protocols of several Native American tribes related to the Sun and Eclipse events. Also, join us for a special after-hours Silent Reading Party for adults on April 12th at 5:30pm. We will have live harp music and snacks to accompany a relaxing evening of reading.

7th-12th graders can hang out any time the library is open, in the teen space at Steele Library. Read, draw, do crafts, have snacks, play video games, board games. Don’t have a library card? No problem. Special Money Madness event: Teens play games to get savvy about managing money with Visions Credit Union staff in the Steele Library teen space on Tues April 23 @ 4pm. First 10 teens to show up at the program get a Dunkin Gift card!

Join us at the Big Flats Library to celebrate Earth Day! On Wednesday, April 24 at 3:45pm we will be making Earth Day Wild Flower Seed Bombs! This activity is a great way to introduce how flowers grow to young children. Using soil, seeds and clay this makes an easy method for planting flowers in your yard! Our book club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at Bulkhead Hardware in Southport at 1:30pm. For the month of March we read "Vanishing Act", by Brit Bennett to discuss on April 12th at 1:30pm.
Horseheads Free Library
The Friends of Horseheads Free Library would like to invite our younger patrons to choose a free book provided by us when they check out a book. This will happen starting on Monday, April 22 until they are gone! We try to choose books at pre reading, early reading, and beginning fluency or chapter books.
Look for the yellow crate of books to brighten everyone's day!

Family Story Time is working its way through the alphabet. This month we will be reading stories covering the letters T, U, and V as well as Earth Day.

April 8, beginning at 2:30pm - Solar Eclipse. *The peak eclipse is scheduled to occur at 3:33 pm local time* - Join us to see the solar eclipse at the library. We will have safe eclipse viewing glasses, a simple eclipse craft for the kids, and light snacks. In case of inclement weather, we will livestream the official NASA live feed.
