Technology Training at CCLD Libraries

Volunteer Tech Help is available on Fridays at 1:15pm at Steele. Call to make an appointment with volunteer Steven, for help with your device! Steven is also able to help with assistive tech for the visually impaired (can recommend apps and services). Call 607-733-9173 (option 4) to reserve a spot.

Tablet Talk is back at Horseheads and Steele libraries! Learn to use your tablet or smartphone, in a small group setting.

Tinker Lab Hours

Until further notice, the Tinker Lab will be closed on Saturdays. Regular operating hours throughout the rest of the week will remain unchanged.

Steele Memorial Library

Stop by at the second floor reference desk and borrow some seeds (up to 3 packs of non GMO seeds; plants will produce nice seeds for saving)! When you harvest your vegetables, herbs or flowers, save some seeds to bring back to the library for the next season! We are featuring easy-to-grow items that will yield impressive produce and seeds! Drag Queen Bingo

Join us for Drag Queen Bingo with Vanessa LeDiva on June 21, 5:30-7:30pm. A (free) ticket is required to attend and you must be 18+ years old. To get your free ticket, stop by Steele Memorial Library in-person and show ID. Registration begins June 3! This is an after-hours event; doors will open at 5:30pm for refreshments. Bingo will run from 6-7:30pm. Prizes awarded (1 max per person)! Note: regular library services will not be available during the event.

Big Flats Summer Reading Registration Kick-Off will be on Tuesday, July 2 @ 3:30! Kids & Teens can grab their SRC bag, which includes log sheets, bookmarks & pencils, some goodies included! Big Flats will be doing games, crafts & prizes too!

Bookmobile

Stop by and visit the Bookmobile on Saturday, June 22, 11-2pm at Elmira Infinite Canvas - Mural Fest 2024.

Our book club meets the 2nd Friday of the month at Bulkhead Hardware in Southport at 1:30pm. For the month of May we read "The Book of Lost Friends" by Lisa Wingate. Note, the book discussion will be on June 7th, 1:30pm (CCLD will be closed for staff Continuing Education Day on June 14th). June's book will be, "When Crickets Cry" by Charles Martin, to discuss on July 12.

Do you have craft supplies that are cluttering your craft space? Would you like to find those supplies a good home? Bring up to 3 items to donate to the Crafter’s Summer Swap on June 17-18, and maybe find some items to go home with yourself! This program will be two days for two opportunities to swap. Join us as we celebrate Asian culture making handmade Kumihimo! Learn the history of the Kumihimo, and how they were used compared to how they are used today to create corded bracelets, lanyards, keychains etc. Then cut and design your own Kumihimo disk, and you'll be able to create your own Kumihimo corded projects.
