Busy Bookmobile

October was a busy month for the Bookmobile with appearances at the ABOS (Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services) Conference in Richmond, Virginia, and Hero Bot Con (art & comics convention) in Elmira.  At the ABOS Conference, 100 guests visited the Bookmobile while it was on display.  It was made known at the conference that the farthest bookmobile came from Elmira, NY.  Our Bookmobile is now nationally known!  Kim’s workshop session, "Latest Trends and Technologies for Outreach Vehicles", was recorded and will be appearing on the ABOS website:  abos-outreach.org.  Please check it out.

Look for the Bookmobile this month at the Elmira Holiday Parade on November 23rd @ 10:00am.

Coming Soon - a Quiet Room at Steele

Thanks to a New York State Library Construction grant and a generous contribution from the Friends of the Steele Memorial Library, CCLD is currently constructing a small quiet room on the 2nd floor of the Steele Memorial Library.  Once the quiet room is completed, we will be able to offer a designated area in the adult services area for library patrons who prefer a quiet library environment. Look for future announcements once the room is completed.
